Antypical takes haircut bookings by appointment only. Come with moderate-cleanish dry hair. For fringes, the cleaner the better. We don’t do colour or blow waves.
Here at Antypical we believe that haircuts don't have a gender or an age. We’re steering further away from the hyper-masculine, hyper-feminine and over-styled hairdos of traditional barbershops and salons. We aim to provide a haircut that is nearest to what you have in mind, requires minimal or no styling and will go the distance! There's a way for any haircut to suit anybody.

Jasper the Hair Wizard (he/him): Jasper does dry cuts and specialises in creative haircuts, clipper work, mullets, curly cuts, kids/toddlers and haircuts for people with anxiety, sensory requirements or those who like a quiet experience. He doesn't use any razors or foilers.
Connor (he/him): Connor has over 10 years experience in salons and barbershops. He likes working with natural texture and growth patterns to make easily maintainable styles. He also loves making sure his clients are seen, heard and get haircuts that express who they really are.
Alice Montes (she/her):
Alice has been cutting hair for over 4 years, both in France and Naarm. She loves doing barber cuts, fades, mullets and beard trims, is also good with kids, long hair, shaggy layers and creative cuts. If you're trying to figure out what hair styles will suit you, Alice is a gentle soul who can help you figure out what to do. She can also speak French!
Rain (they/them): Rain is our trainee staff member, offering discounted prices while they hone their skills. They always work under supervision and have naturally creative eye. Rain can do one-length cuts, dry curly/wavy cuts, short back-n-sides, fringe trims, short asymmetrical cuts, and they’re learning how to fades and layers.
A positive experience is essential! If your child is feeling anxious about having a haircut, we will try to give them some time to settle into the space and talk to them when they're ready. If they can't calm down, are refusing the haircut and won't be talked into letting it happen, that's ok! It's best to try again another day. A $15 fee will apply to cover running costs and we will try to fit you back in as soon as we can.
How long to book for - if it’s your first visit and you’re worried that 30mins won’t be long enough, just book for longer. You won’t be charged for the extra time unless it’s used. For very thick or knotty hair, detailed shaved patterns, a beard trim with your haircut (with Connor), a big change or if you like to talk it through a lot before getting started, book some extra time.

Adults $63-90*
Teens $55-65
Kids $48-58
Toddlers $45
Fringe only $20
Undercut or buzz cut $30
Add shaved patterns $5-10
Beard trim $10-30
Plus 1.6% SquareUp processing fee (no fee for cash).
*Concession discount 15% applies to adult haircuts.
CANCELLATION POLICY:
Please give more than 12hrs notice, either by deleting the appointment or sending us a text message. For cancelling within 12hrs you will incur a fee $30, and will be asked to pay this via bank transfer.
